HOT-DIP GALVANIZING, PHILIPPINES
The study was conducted for Metalfab Industries, Inc., a company engaged in pole line hardware for some of its revenues. The study looked into the feasibility of Metalfab in establishing a hot-dip galvanizing plant of its own or resorting to subcontracting its galvanizing requirements. The technical, marketing, and financial aspects of this study were comprehensively presented.

PHILIPPINE TELEPHONE SYSTEM, PHILIPPINES
An exhaustive account of the present telephone system in the Philippines and the proposed expansion program from 1981 to 1990 comprised this report. It included details of regional and sectoral coverage, telephone distribution, total line capacities and connections and types of telephone exchanges per region and sector. The report also incorporated the first and second phases of the proposed overall and regional expansion programs of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

ASEAN NATIONS TELEPHONE SYSTEM, PHILIPPINES
A comprehensive study of the present telephone system in accordance with the proposed expansion programs of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications as well as the ASEAN member companies.

PHILIPPINE PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX STUDY FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, PHILIPPINES
A comprehensive and realistic evaluation of the feasibility of establishing a petrochemical complex in the Philippines, one of the eleven priority projects of the government, was analyzed in this study by SRI International and SEA. The primary purpose of the study was to select the optimum product mix, production scale and the most suitable feed stock for the proposed Petrochemical Complex. The study was intended to provide a basis for discussion with prospective joint-venture partners. It portrayed realistic market conditions taking into account the country's downstream and tertiary industries as well as the world outlook of petrochemical products for the next ten years.

NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY FEEDSTOCK OPTIMIZATION STUDY, PHILIPPINES
This study was prepared by SRI International and SEA for the National Development Company which was aimed at selecting the proper feedstock (Kuwait vs. Brunei) for the proposed petrochemical complex in the Philippines. The study conducted was presented in two-stages underlining the selection of Brunei feedstock which, promised to give the lowest production cost. Following the clients agreement, Phase II was undertaken to determine the capital investment and required selling price for the petrochemical products for 1987 which is the planned initial year of operations. The study also accurately reflected the relative economic differences between the various feedstocks of the governments of Brunei and Kuwait.

CLASSIC GLASS MANUFACTURING, INC., PHILIPPINES
The rehabilitation feasibility study conducted by SEA, reviewed and analyzed the operations of the company and pinpointed the factors and circumstances which, led to the shutdown of operations. Objective evaluation and projections were made to come up with the ideal steps pertinent to the rehabilitation which, would result to the desired financial condition of the company. This rehabilitation feasibility study was submitted to the firm's major creditors namely: the Development Bank of the Philippines and the Ayala Investment Development Corporation.

NATION ALUMINUM AND MANUFACTURING CORPORATION, PHILIPPINES
A project evaluation report for Planters Development Bank was conducted on the Nation Aluminum and Manufacturing Corporation, a company engaged in the manufacture of aluminum products such as cooking wares and household utensils. As part of its modernization program, the company plans to manufacture other products using rolling mills machinery and other equipments to cope up with new product developments. It was in this context that this project was undertaken. Supply and demand for the aluminum products were considered including the technical, financial, marketing, and the organizational and management aspects.

GALVEZ REALTY AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, PHILIPPINES
SEA was retained by the Planters Development Bank to do a project feasibility study on the milling services of Galvez Realty and Development Corporation. It sought to determine the viability of its milling services in terms of market, management, technical and financial aspects.

SEAC TRAINING CENTER, PHILIPPINES
The study was conducted by SEA for SEAC International, Inc., a joint venture operation between a Filipino group engaged in the manufacture, sale and servicing of telecommunications equipment and SACE, Inc. of San Angelo, Texas, USA, one of the world's largest re-manufacturers of central office equipments. The study looked into the feasibility of establishing a training center in Central Office Equipment (COE) course to cater to employees of telephone companies like PLDT and members of the Philippine Association of Private Telephone Companies (PAFTELCO). The end objective was to turn out highly proficient and skilled technicians on a regular basis to improve the entire telecommunications industry.

INTERNATIONAL JEEPNEY CENTER, INC., PHILIPPINES
SEA was engaged by the Planters Development Bank to prepare a feasibility study on the International Jeepney Center, Inc., a firm manufacturing jeep bodies for export to the United States, Europe, South America, and Australia. The Company wanted to expand its business operations to augment the increasing demand for jeep bodies. The study included the total viability of the project: the market, financial, technical and management of the proposed expansion.

HULO PROPERTY PROJECT STUDY, PHILIPPINES
A study wherein S.E.A. Development Corporation proposed to invest in the construction of a building in the Hulo property which would house the offices of three S.E.A. Development companies. The study was aimed at determining the rental rates to be charged by S.E.A. with a profitable return on investment taking into account several other considerations. The projected rental expenses were pitted against present monthly rents to determine their rationale.

SEAC/ROCKWELL COLLINS PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
SEAC International, a telecommunications equipment assembler, engaged the services of SEA in the preparation of a feasibility study for its Rockwell Collins Project.

This project was for the establishment of an assembly plant for the manufacture of microwave telecommunications equipment. The marketing aspects of the study discussed in detail the strategies and plans in implementing the project. The report was submitted and duly approved by the Board of Investments (BOI) for which SEAC International was granted a non-preferred pioneer status by BOI.

IFUGAO PROVINCIAL INDUSTRIAL CENTER PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
Conducted a feasibility study for the Department of Trade and Industry, Ifugao Provincial Office, Cordillera Administrative Region on the proposed establishment of a provincial industrial center in the Municipality of Lamut, Province of Ifugao. The study determined the viability of the project in terms of its technical, marketing, financial, management, socio-economic, and environmental aspects. A Master Plan was also prepared and outlined in detail the drawings, layouts and sketches of the infrastructure and engineering/architectural requirements of the project.

PROPOSED IRON ORE REDUCTION SMELTING PLANT STUDY, PHILIPPINES
This study determined the viability of setting up an iron ore reduction/smelting plant in the Province of Bulacan. The work included a detailed study of the technical aspect, particularly determination of the iron ore deposits and the type of reduction smelting process the plant will adapt. The study also determined the viability of the proposed project in terms of its marketing, financial, management, and socio-economic aspects.

COMMONWEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY, PHILIPPINES
The investment study consisted of the viability of acquiring this non-life insurance company which, was affiliated with the ANSCOR Group of Companies. This undertaking was conducted by SEA with the assistance of a private insurance broker to delve into the financial statement and determine the correct acquisition cost/buying price of the insurance company. An analysis of the projected revenues, IRR's and payback period under various sensitivities were also made. The S.E.A Group of Companies later acquired this insurance company in 1983.

PHILTECTIC CORPORATION, PHILIPPINES
The SEA carried out an investment study for the acquisition of the Philtectic Corporation, a company engaged in the distribution of Eutectic-Castolin welding products. The Consultants assessed the company in terms of its financial viability by presenting the existing and the projected financial statements as well as the market for the products. The investors acquired the company in 1983.

ROLM BUSINESS PLAN, PHILIPPINES
Organized in August 1974, Teltronic Sales, Inc. is engaged in the assembly, repair and marketing of telecommunications equipment. Its major client is the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company. SEA was commissioned to prepare a business plan for the marketing of ROLM CBX, a fully digital computer controlled telephone switching system. The business plan consisted of the present PABX market requirements, prospects, marketing strategies, advertising and sales promotions and financial projections.

FARRETTA INVESTMENT STUDY, PHILIPPINES
The study was undertaken by SEA to identify, evaluate and select the suitable business venture for the Farretta family. It covered the evaluation of eight (8) possible businesses the project proponents were interested in by determining the marketing, financial and market risks as well as initial capital required for the project.

NUTECH CIRCUITS, INC., PHILIPPINES
An investment study was conducted on Nutech Circuits, Inc., a company engaged in the manufacture of semi-conductor products. The study presented various recommendations pertinent to an investor group's proposed equity contribution in the semi-conductor company taking into account the marketing and financial aspects of its operations.

PRINT DIFFUSION PACIFIC, INC., PHILIPPINES
An investment study which evaluated whether it was viable for a group of investors to invest in common shares of Print Diffusion Pacific, Inc., a company engaged in the distribution of magazines, for a total sum of P3 million. The study presented various considerations pertinent to the investment criteria used in this project such as IRR and payback period.

BUSINESSDAY INFORMATION SYSTEMS & SERVICES, INC., PHILIPPINES
An investment study which involved an evaluation of its viability whether to invest in Businessday Information Systems and Services, a company which is principally engaged in upgrading the local computer forms industry through the introduction of modern manufacturing equipment and forms design concepts. The evaluation considered the fixed assets resources of the company, projected IRR and payback period as well as an in-depth analysis of the computer forms industry.

SCOTT PAPER PHILIPPINES, INC., PHILIPPINES
The investment study involved a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of a proposed investment in Scott Paper Philippines, Inc. The evaluation took into account the requirements of the parent company (Scott Paper, U.S.A., Inc.), historical financial performance of the last five years, and the projected financial returns for the next ten years under various sensitivities and financial arrangements.

ACACIA INTERNATIONAL MARKETING CORP./V.V. SOLIVEN, PHILIPPINES
Acacia International Marketing Corporation (AIMCORP), a company engaged in the trading and distribution of construction materials contracted the services of SEA to look into the possibility of a joint venture with V.V. Soliven Realty Corporation. V.V. Soliven's proposal was to offer their subdivision lots and condominium units to AIMCORP in exchange for the supply of construction materials for their housing project at Pasig Green Park Village.

A credit investigation of V.V Soliven was conducted to determine its financial standing and paying capacity. The Consultants also pointed out the market as well as the technical feasibility of the proposed joint venture.

ANALU-INVESTMENT STUDY FOR A SHOE MANUFACTURING CO., PHILIPPINES
An investment study on Analu Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc., a company engaged in the manufacture of shoes, bags and other leather wearing apparels geared for the export market. The study contained analysis of the company's major operation, a five-year projection plan and an overview of the shoe manufacturing industry.

MARKET STUDY ON CAST IRON PARTS, PHILIPPINES
This study, prepared by SEA for GEMCO Industrial Development of the Netherlands, aimed at identifying cast iron automotive parts to be used for local production in the Philippines. The specific foundry subsector of interest was the cast iron, and the specific user sector involved was the automotive sector, a relatively high-volume, reasonably priced sector that uses metal castings extensively. While the total project was to set-up and establish a manufacturing facility which will serve the automotive and equipment manufacturers in the Philippines and, perhaps, the Asian Region, this support study explored the market for such castings to determine the feasible product mix for the project that will serve as the basis for planning the facility. The study took into consideration local market demand, product mixes and economies of scale of production, local suppliers and competition.

MASTERPLAN FOR THE PHILIPPINE PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY, PHILIPPINES
This study was undertaken for the Board of Investment (BOI) by SRI International (SRI) and SEA Consultants, Inc. (SEA), with SRI as the lead consultant. The study was aimed at developing a Masterplan for the country's petrochemical industry in the 21st century. The project required comprehensive evaluation, including: (a) assessment of historical and current local, regional and global industry conditions; (b) analyses of strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities confronting the Philippine petrochemical industry; and (c) definition of strategic priorities and articulation of achievable action plans.

This study was implemented in three sequential phases, namely:

  • Phase I: undertaking of a broad overview of the petrochemical sector, which include local, regional, and global assessments of the industry;
  • Phase II: analysis of the industry and of "macro" issues that affect it to be able to determine and establish specific sectoral objectives and targets; and
  • Phase III: preparation of a synthesis of all information and insights developed throughout the project into overall strategy recommendations supported is detailed implementation steps and timetables.

FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMON FACILITY CENTER, PHILIPPINES
This study was prepared for the International Labour Organization with the primary objectives of determining whether there will be a clear demand, as expressed by small footwear manufacturers in Marikina, for the establishment of a common facility centre (CFC), and whether such a centre could be operated on a fully-financially autonomous basis.

REGIONAL TOURISM MASTERPLAN FOR EASTERN VISAYAS, PHILIPPINES
SEA was contracted by the Department of Tourism to undertake the project which involved the development of a Regional Tourism Master Plan (RTMP) for the Eastern Visayas Region. The plan provided the foundation and direction for the government and the private sector in developing the tourism industry in the region anchoring on the attractions that will be developed, improved and promoted as a package along strategic location.

The team of experts pinpointed and evaluated the environmental and historical/cultural assets of the region that can be harnessed as a tourism resource.

The developed plan was in consonance with the Philippine Tourism Master Plan, the Medium Term Philippine Development Plan and the Regional Development and Investment Plan.

ROTOSIEVE TRIOBEX PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
SEA prepared the feasibility study for the manufacturing/assembly of "Rotosieve Triobex", a special machinery which find application in the mining, food products, chemical/pharmaceutical and cement plant industries. The marketing portion of the study presented the results of a market survey that looked into potential clients and competition for the product in the country.

EXPANSION PLAN FOR V. ROQUE WOODWORKS, INC., PHILIPPINES
SEA determined the feasibility and viability of the company's plan to exporting flush doors to the Middle East. The feasibility study presented the technical, financial, marketing, and organizational aspects of the proposed expansion project.

BUSINESS PLAN FOR REFURMA INDUSTRIES, PHILIPPINES
The project involved the preparation of a business plan for a joint venture undertaking to manufacture home and office furnitures. The plan provided steps and recommendations to be undertaken for the proposed joint venture.

FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE PROPOSED NATIONAL BOOK DEVELOPMENT BOARD (NBDB) BOOK CITY, PHILIPPINES
SEA conducted a feasibility study for the proposed Book City, envisioned to become the center for administration, training, international convention, and information exchange for book development in the country. The study aimed to ensure the project's long-term viability and sustainability and determined its initial facilities. It examined the viability of the project in terms of its marketing, technical, financial, economic, socio-cultural, and environmental aspects.
