SRI MICROCOMPUTER PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
The microcomputer project study for SRI International presented comprehensive statistical data, estimating and economic conditions prevalent in the local market for microcomputers. Information gathered through research and personal interviews with suppliers, traders and end-users projected the local picture of the microcomputer industry.

SRI CONSUMER STUDY, PHILIPPINES
The company was retained to conduct a consumer study for SRI International on major consumer items like roasted coffee, ladies' wearing apparel (e.g., underwear), tobacco and cigarettes, softdrinks, bacon, bakery products and sausages. The study presented the market consumption of each product, laws of importation and the prevailing trade restrictions of the Philippine Government.

S.E.A.-SPARTAN DISTRIBUTORSHIP VENTURE, PHILIPPINES
A study undertaken for the proposed distribution and trading venture between Spartan Manufacturing Corporation of the United States and S.E.A. Development Corporation. The joint venture was for Spartan to secure goods from the big manufacturers in the United States and SEADC to market these goods in the Philippines and possibly in Southeast Asia. A survey was conducted to study the market potentials of five selected product lines in the Philippines.

MARKET RESEARCH: CREDIT CARDS, PHILIPPINES
The research conducted by SEA-BMB was aimed at arriving at a quantifiable estimate of the credit card market. The study identified the major credit card issuers, the number of current cardholder per issuer; the number of accredited establishments by credit card issuer; and the current credit verification methods/equipment used.

MARKET RESEARCH: MOTORCYCLE INDUSTRY, PHILIPPINES
SEA was commissioned by a private company to undertake a study which will give a quantifiable estimate of the motorcycle industry; a run down of rules and regulations affecting the importation of second-hand motorcycles; and a marketing strategy to be adopted for the planned venture to import second-hand motorcycles.

PLASTFAB MARKETING PROGRAM, PHILIPPINES
The company formulated and set-up the PVC Marketing Program for a manufacturing company. The target market, channels of distribution, pricing and advertising and promotional aspects included proposed timetable for its profitable operations.

COIL STUDY FOR SEAC INTERNATIONAL, INC., PHILIPPINES
The study was conducted for SEAC International, Inc., a joint venture between a Filipino group and SACE, Inc., one of the world's largest re-manufacturers of central office equipment. The study looked into the possibility of establishing a joint venture company for marketing loading coils in the Philippines. Data presented were based on the reconditioning work requirements for SEAC International, PLDT and other public and private telephone companies.

MULTIFAB AERIAL DUCT STUDY, PHILIPPINES
Analyses and projections of the present and future demands of the aerial duct cable composed this comprehensive study for Multifab Industries, Inc., a company engaged in manufacturing cables and cable terminals. The study was undertaken to determine the requirements of PLDT and other Multifab customers for aerial duct cables.

CATTLEHIDE INDUSTRY STUDY, PHILIPPINES
The cattlehide industry study, conducted by SEA, contained a detailed discussion on the various kinds, types, quantities and values of raw material hides and skins which were imported by the Philippines from known animal hide suppliers from1977 to 1980. It presented statistics on importation classified by types of hide or skin, by country of origin and based on FOB values.

CAR AIRCONDITIONER INDUSTRY STUDY, PHILIPPINES
A study conducted for Multiprod Industries, Inc., a company engaged in the trading of industrial products, such as power tools, telecommunication equipments, hardware, and construction materials, dealt on the factors affecting the present condition of the air-conditioning industry and the favorable development shaping its future. It included information on the companies involved in the manufacturing, selling and servicing of car airconditioners in the country.

MOLASSES INDUSTRY STUDY, PHILIPPINES
Comprehensive analyses and projections in the manufacture and trading of molasses were contained in the industry study conducted for Bulk Carrier, Inc. Both domestic consumption and foreign importations were studied with objective evaluation of prevailing conditions and practices, which dictate current trends. Detailed information on the suppliers, buyers or traders, end-users and hauling practices were included in the study.

CAUSTIC SODA INDUSTRY STUDY, PHILIPPINES
SEA conducted an industry study on caustic soda for Bulk Carriers, Inc., with the objective of determining prospects for the company. Detailed definitions of the properties and forms of caustic soda along with safety precautions and preventive measures necessary in the transport and handling of caustic soda were taken into consideration.

SULFURIC ACID INDUSTRY, PHILIPPINES
The technical aspects of the manufacturing process of sulfuric acid and the dangers related to handling and transporting of this project were broadly defined in the industry study made by SEA-BMB for Bulk Carrier, Inc. Supply and demand for sulfuric acid were taken into account including an overview of the prospects for the hauling business.

CARBON BLACK INDUSTRY, PHILIPPINES
The study contained a detailed analysis of the nature of carbon black, its application on the manufacturing industries, its sole manufacturers and the different types of carbon black. It also presented an overview of the marketing aspects of carbon black as well as the handling, transporting and prospects for the carbon black hauling business.

A SURVEY OF THE PABX MARKET, PHILIPPINES
SEA was commissioned by ITT Philippines, Inc. to do a market survey of the local PABX industry. Being an accredited supplier of telecommunications equipment of PLDT, ITT was interested in finding out how its performance compare with its competitors particularly in the areas of product quality, technical advancement, pricing, after-sales services, advertising and promotions.

MINICOMPUTER AND INSTRUMENTATION INDUSTRIES MARKET SURVEYS, PHILIPPINES
SRI International commissioned SEA for the preparation of a market survey on the minicomputer and instrumentation industries in the Philippines. Major topics covered in the market survey for both industries, include: market size and growth (historical and projections up to 1990); environmental factors affecting the growth of the two products; industry issues such as government policies and regulations regarding usage of the products; description of market coverage; and company profiles of leading suppliers of these products in the Philippines.

REPORT ON THE SHIPPING INDUSTRY IN THE PHILIPPINES
SEA assisted SRI International in preparing an industry status of the shipping industry in the Philippines. Included in the report are future plans of the Philippine Government, obtained through the Philippine Ports Authority as far as the development of the shipping industry is concerned, as well as problems and prospects for the private sector, particularly Philippine and American carrier companies.

MARKET SURVEY ON THE MAGNESIUM SULPHATE INDUSTRY, PHILIPPINES
Conducted a market survey of the magnesium sulphate industry in the Philippines for SRI International. The study presented the major users and suppliers/traders of magnesium sulphate in the country and the volume of importations for the period 1985-1989.

MARKET SURVEY ON CONVENTIONAL WHEELS, PHILIPPINES
Prepared a market survey on conventional wheels (16" and 19") in the Philippines for SRI International. The survey included the types and brands of similar products sold in the Philippines, suppliers, pricing schemes, and an inventory of the existing market.

MARKET SURVEY OF PASSENGER CARS, PHILIPPINES
The study, conducted for SRI International, determined the types and models of passenger cars, which were saleable in the country for the period 1988-1991. The brands covered were Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and European cars.

MARKET SURVEY FOR TELTRONICS SALES, INC., PHILIPPINES
SEA conducted a survey of the prevailing marketing practices of accredited telephone suppliers of PLDT. The report looked into selling prices, margins, commissions, advertising and promotions, warrants and inventories, as well as competitor products for two view products of TSI which were to be distributed in the local market.

COCKPIT PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
Bangko Makati engaged the services of SEA in the preparation of a feasibility study for the establishment of a cockpit arena within the municipality of Makati. SEA conducted a comprehensive operations survey of selected cockpits in Metro Manila to determine the viability of the proposed project.

TRUCKING AND HAULING INDUSTRY STUDY, PHILIPPINES
SEA was engaged to Bulk Carriers, Inc. for the preparation of a market study of its present competitors in the trucking and hauling industry. The study looked into the problems confronting the industry, the size of BCI's market in terms of number and types of trucks, services offered, selling prices or hauling rates, major customers and market share. Results of the study were used as basis by BCI in its expansion and rehabilitation program.

HOUSING SUBSIDY PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
The Asian Development Bank Staff Association commissioned SEA for the conduct of a market study of housing costs in Metro Manila for bank staff, estimation of the impact of rising rent on bank staff, and development of a proposal for the modification of the existing formula for the housing subsidy of bank professionals.

WATER PIPE CLEANING COMPANY PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
The project involved the preparation of technical, market, and financial studies to determine the viability of establishing a company catering to water pipes maintenance in order to avoid water pollution in houses and commercial establishments. The technical aspect included a series of experimentation and research studies on the methods to be used while the market study covered the results of a comprehensive survey of about 120 houses and commercial establishments.

FOUR-STAR HOTEL PROJECT, PHILIPPINES
SEA was commissioned by Alchaldean International Pty. Ltd. of Australia to conduct a market study of four-star hotels in the Philippines for its planned investment in the sector. The market study looked into the operations, room and occupancy rates, and projected room revenues of four-star hotels as well as a future outlook of the tourism industry of the country.

CLAY ROOF TILE MARKET RESEARCH FOR THE PHILIPPINES, PHILIPPINES
SEA was contracted by Booz Allen and Hamilton (Korea) Inc. to prepare a study on the clay roof tile market in the Philippines. Study included the following: a) market size for clay roof tiles in the Philippines; b) competitive analysis of clay roof tiles manufacturers/distributors; c) distribution channel analysis; d) high level customer analysis; e) cost analysis of importing and installing clay roof tiles vs. sourcing domestically and installing; f) sensitivity of exchange rates, risk management; and g) what is required to begin importing clay tiles into the Philippines.
